Anita Jo Owens, age 57, of Pike Creek, passed away on Monday, May 31 at home in the presence of her family.

Anita was a 1981 graduate of William Penn High School where she was a member of the Swim Team and Color Guard. Later she also enjoyed watching her children swim for their schools. She was a retired letter carrier at several locations, most recently Marshalltown Post Office. Anita loved sitting on her deck watching nature and spending time with her family and dogs and being social with her neighbors.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Guy Owens; her children, Brian Owens (Sarah), Megan Owens (Justin Kates) and Nicole Owens; her parents, Harold and Patsy Pawley; her sisters, Debbie Palmer (Ted) and Karen Ash and her granddaughter, Harper.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 4 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.
