Obituary for Bernice Talley Shy (Townsend)
Bernice Talley Shy, age 77, of Hockessin, DE formerly of Trenton, NJ, Sunset on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Christiana Care Wilmington Hospital due to complications of COVID -19.
Bernice attended Cape Charles High School in Virginia. She worked as a CNA for 15 years. Bernice also worked in the school system in Trenton School Board of Education. She was a baptized witness and attended the Mill Creek Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Bernice enjoyed volunteering in the communities she lived in and spreading the word of the Bible. She loved to travel, cook, dance and sharing moments with her family especially while enjoying spoons of "peanut butter" outside under the trees!
Bernice was preceded in death by her former husband, J.B. Shy in 2010.
Survivors include her sons, Robert J. Shy; Curtis and Sharlena T. Shy; her daughters, Lisa A. Shy (Daryn);Denise M. Shy; her grandson, John L. and Janise Thompson her great grandchild, Jaylen.
