Brian A. Dempsey
Newport - Brian, age 62, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at home in the presence of his loving family.
Brian was a 1976 graduate of McKean High School where he played football. He also attended the University of Delaware. Brian worked at Dow chemical and then for DuPont after they merged. He also worked at DuPont Country Club and Hercules Inc, also known as Ashland, for many years.
Brian played on the Hercules softball team and enjoyed playing golf. He loved the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Mildred Dempsey and his brother, Kenneth Dempsey.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Sharon Prosceno-Dempsey; his children, Jason Dempsey, Amber Prosceno and Joe Prosceno III; his sisters, Cheryl Hayden and Lisa Purdy and nieces and nephews.
Services will be private. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4 to 5 pm on Thursday, February 4 at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804. Masks and social distancing will be required along with a capacity limit.
