Obituary for David Lewis Key

David Lewis Key, Sr. 74, passed away on February 5, 2021 after a brief illness at Genesis Hillside Center, Wilmington, Delaware.

David was born on June 8, 1946 to the late Rev. Samuel and Lila Key in Brooklyn, New York.
Along with his parents, David was preceded in death by five brothers, Charles, Sam, Moses, Rev. James Patrick, and John, two sisters, Gladys Key, and Rosalee Walker.

David loved music and enjoyed playing the organ. While he was not formally trained in music, he had the ability to play an organ like it was his best friend.

David is survived by his son, David Key, Jr. and daughter Savalda (Jackie) Platt, both of Houston, TX, granddaughters Destinee Key and Nevaeh Key-Platt, grandson D’Andre Key, two brothers, Nathaniel Key, (Cynthia) Brandywine, MD, Thomas Key, (Michele), three sisters, Mary Powell, (Douglas) Levittown, PA, Ramona Riggins, (Tim) North Charleston, SC, Lois Key-Alexander (Rev. Leon Alexander), Ewing, NJ, two sister-in-laws Jamesetta Key, Lumberton, NJ, Fannie Key, Brooklyn, NY, brother-in-law, Rev. Richard Walker, Newark, DE, a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, and a special church family and Pastor, Rev. Dr. Patricia E. Green, Mount Enon Baptist Church, Smyrna, DE.
