Obituary for Henry T. "Hank" Nowak

Henry T. Nowak, age 77, of Townsend, Delaware passed away on September 27, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Hank was born at St. Agnes Hospital of Philadelphia, PA in 1943. He graduated from Bonner High School in 1961 and Drexel University, where he received his degree in Business Administration, in 1967. Hank played lacrosse for Drexel from 1964 – 1966 and was a member of the Drexel ROTC.

Upon graduating from Drexel University, Hank joined the Army and served in the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1973. After completing his service with the Army, Hank worked as an Executive Recruiter for Guyer Associates for 15 years. Following his time with Guyer, Hank enjoyed over 20 years of employment with Lowe’s Home Improvement in their Garden Center.

Hank is survived by his loving partner, Sarah Saul; His son, Douglas H. Nowak; Sarah’s four children, Michael, David, Adam, and Jason and his sister Blanche Reiner.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents Henry C. Nowak and Ferdinanda S. Nowak.

Hank was an avid lover of the outdoors and the wilderness. He was a lifetime member of the National Wildlife Federation. In lieu of flowers, those who wish to express sympathy may donate to Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in Hank's name (www.Hawkmountain.org).

A memorial celebration honoring the life of Henry T. Nowak will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, October 4th at The Gables at Chadds Ford. Guests are invited to visit with the family, pay their respects and share in the celebration of Hank’s life. Light refreshments will be served. We have secured a large space with both indoor and outdoor accommodations to allow for appropriate social distancing and ask that guests in attendance please wear masks. Interment will be private.
