Obituary for Janice A. Daring

Janice A. Daring (Baird) died peacefully on February 28, 2023, surrounded by her family.

She was born in 1935, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Margaret and Gray Baird. Janice was predeceased by her husband Kenneth W. Daring, Jr., her brother Robert Baird and her sister Tricia Noble.

Janice lived a full and happy life as a homemaker living in Newark, DE and enjoyed working part-time at the National 5 and 10. Janice and Ken moved to their home on Square Pond in Shapleigh, Maine in 1989. Janice was the post mistress of the Shapleigh Post Office for many years. She was also a watercolor artist who could be found on Thursday mornings (for 30 years) at the Trafton Center painting with many artist friends. She was proud that her paintings are hung in many homes in Delaware, Maine, and many other states and countries. Janice was also proud to have written a book about her family's life on Square Pond.

Janice is survived by her five children, Brian Daring (Lynda), Rick Daring (Toni), Claire Williamson (Sam), Bob Daring (Kim) and Chris Daring (Renee), her grandchildren, Kenny, Rich, Rebecca, Samuel (Alyssa), Spencer (Alice), Tim(Carly), Hunter (Brandee), Montana (Dylan), Lauren, Meghan (Jimmy) and her great-grandchildren Anastasia, Joshua, Eloise, Isabelle, Landon, Lilah, Julian, Conner, Emily, Rylee, Ryker, Raelynn, and Rhemington.

A celebration of Janice's life will be held at a later date.
