Hi Suzanne...
So sorry to hear about Jack's untimely passing. He was dearly loved by my brother, Joe, and our entire family. Jack certainly lived up to his last name "Smiley" as we could always count on him for his laughter and good humor. We all have fond memories of fun times spent with the Thomson family, especially the golf outings in Bethany Beach honoring my Dad.
My heart goes out to you and your family...May your years of wonderful memories comfort you and remember how much you were loved by Mr. "always" Smiley and will always be loved by those who were blessed to call him "friend".
With our love and prayers...Kathie & Curt Jeschke

Suzanne and Family: I am so sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I have many great memories of my first years at Saint Mark's as the Athletic Trainer for the football team and Jack as the Head Coach, as well as teaching colleagues. He was always very kind, generous, fun to be around, and a great all around person. I am sure he will be greatly missed by your family. I send hugs, prayers and many thoughts to you and your family.
In Sympathy,
Diane Kuczmarski

We wanted to express our deepest sympathy to Mrs Smiley aka "Frau" and the entire Smiley family. We were part of the St Marks family and both Mr Smiley and Mrs Smiley taught our kids. We have such fond memories of you both and thank you for providing the kind of education we hoped we would receive at St Marks. We are all thinking and praying for you all. The McCullar family, Pat, Cathy, John, Erin, & Bryan

What can you say when you lose your best friend of 56 years? Jack, my “brother,” you have left a hole in my heart that is huge. I will try to fill it with the hundreds of memories of events and adventures we shared through the years, and keep you in my heart forever. I will always miss you dearly. Craig Martin
