Obituary for Kyle Christopher Johnson
Kyle Christopher Johnson, age 37, of Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday March 17th, 2021.
Kyle, was born to Darryl Anthony (Tony) Johnson and Valerie (Manley) Johnson, on May 10th,1983 in Philadelphia, Pa. Although his family moved to Newark, DE in 1992, Kyle always loved his hometown Philly. He maintained close ties there with the friends and family he loved so dearly.
Kyle graduated from Howard High School of Technology in 2001. Later, Kyle became a certified nursing assistant. He loved working as a patient care technician at, The Mary Campbell Center, then, ChristianaCare Hospital.
From a young age Kyle loved his Philly sports teams. He loved watching the Phillies with his granddad Sam (deceased), grandmother, and his uncle Sam. Kyle was also a lifelong wrestling fan. Developing over the years ``expert moves” with his dad, Uncle Sam, and cousins. Mostly, Kyle loved the Philadelphia Eagles; he was a “diehard” fan. He enjoyed watching the games with His Grandad Chris (deceased), his father, and sister Angie. He always enjoyed having Super Bowl parties for the kids.
Kyle loved life, loved having fun, loved being around his whole family and friends all the time. He enjoyed all types of outdoor activities. He also was passionate about cooking, and fashioned himself as an amateur cook, and he was good at it. He was a kind and lovable person. He loved joking around, but he also knew how to be serious when needed.
Kyle was a family man, and what a big family he had! 8 children in all! 3 from his previous marriage. Then, 4 he gained on June 11, 2014, when he married his childhood friend, Lundie Ruffin-Fortson. From their union, in October 2015, their only daughter together was born. Kyle loved all his children dearly, which made him serious about training and teaching them about his loving God Jehovah. He had such deep love for Jehovah, and his wish was to have all his kids grow up to love Jehovah as much, if not more then, he did.
Kyle Christopher Johnson, leaves behind to mourn: his dear wife Lundie S. Johnson, his children, Savion A. Fortson (16), Alissa J. Fortson (14), Victoria B. Johnson (14), Kory C.Johnson (13) Caleb L. Fortson (13), Isabella L. Johnson (12), Elan D. Fortson (9), and Kylie Christina Johnson (5), his parents, Tony and Valerie Johnson, His sister Angie Johnson, his nieces Cierra Johnson and Maddison Johnson. His grandmothers, Constance Rhinehardt and Flora Melendez. His Father in-law Darnell Ruffin. A special mention of Kyle’s Surrogate mothers and father Kevin and Ann Baker, and Linda Allen. His “brother and Sister” Wayne Baker and Tysha Allen Wright. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Kyle will be sorely missed by many.
