Obituary

Loretta E. Brase

Wilmington - It is with great sadness the family announces that Loretta E. Brase passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of January 3, 2021. In 2016, Loretta was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease with dementia soon to follow. The latter of which took her from her family and friends unexpectedly.

Loretta was born May 1, 1950 in Torrance, CA, but has called Delaware her home for the past 41 years. She retired from the State of DE, working in the Labor Relations Dept where she made many friends. Loretta was active within St. James Episcopal Church of Newport and the Diocese of Delaware including the Pilot Congregation. Later in life Loretta began to explore her shamanistic beliefs through the Buffalo Trace Society, philanthropy through Dining for Women and enjoyed volunteering at The Grand Opera House.

Loretta is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ken Davis, her sister, Sheila Brase and her children, whom she loved and adored until death, Sarah Brase-Davis and Aaron Davis.

The burial will be held privately with a memorial service to follow when possible. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to St. James Episcopal Church Newport.
