Obituary for Robert W. Buckley Sr.

Robert W. Buckley Sr age 54 of Wilmington, DE passed away surrounded by his family on November 26, 2022.

Bob grew up in Forest Brook Glen with his parents and 4 siblings. He held dearly the memories and friendships that he made there and talked about them often. He loved reminiscing and telling stories of his childhood. Stories of playing cars in the backyard, riding bikes, exploring the woods, climbing trees, building forts, falling through the ice of Follies Pond, and playing ball with the neighborhood kids with whom he became life long friends. He loved to make people laugh and always had a good joke to tell. Most recently Bob enjoyed caring for his fish in his little pond.

He worked for several years at Clean Earth of Delaware before health issues forced him to stop. His previous employment included Lilly Fasteners and Verizon.

Bob considered himself lucky that he was able to marry the love of his life, and was most proud to be a dad and poppop. He adored nothing more than spending time with his kids and grandkids. He also loved to escape to the mountains in Virginia with his wife. He would often play basketball with his sons and their friends, he bowled and played softball for leagues, and he loved to watch Jeopardy.

He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan and cheered on all the philly teams, except for the Eagles. Bob was that guy, a DALLAS COWBOYS fan! If you knew Bob, you've heard him say "How about dem boyz?"

He will be forever missed by his loving wife Kim Buckley that he was blessed to spend 28 years with. He also leaves behind his four children, Ryan Villermaux (Sandi), Brandon Villermaux, Felicia Villermaux (Dan), Bob Buckley Jr. (Shauna). His siblings, Bill Buckley Jr. (Vicky), Connie Buckley, John Buckley (Bobbie) and Sandee Nabb (Wayne). His grandchildren Daniel, Keegan, Liam, Olivia, and Many nieces and nephews.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Bill Buckley Sr and Sandy Buckley, his niece Brooke Goldner, and his beloved dog Roxy.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 5th at NICHOLS-GILMORE FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. Justis St. Newport, DE 19804 where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will be private.
