Obituary for Russell Cahall

Russell Cahall passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 11 in the comfort of his home with his loving wife Susan Moore Cahall by his side. Russell, son of the late Frances L. and Rodney E. Cahall, Sr., was born in Wilmington, DE on June 15, 1960.

Russell was a driver for many businesses in Wilmington, starting at the News Journal and ending at Mercedes Benz of Delaware. He loved cars, especially Camaros. He enjoyed buying and selling them. Sue never knew what to expect when she came home. A car would be there when she left for work, and when she returned, it would be gone and replaced by two or three more. The next day, they would be gone, with new ones replacing them. He would always greet her at the door, saying “Don’t worry. It was an even trade.” On most days Russell could be found outside, where he loved to be, working on cars and his lawn and talking to neighbors.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Cindy Olivier, brother Roddy Cahall, brother-in-law Robert Miller, Mother and father-in-law Dorothy and George Moore, and sister-in-law Terry Moore.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 14 years Susan Moore Cahall, daughter Amanda Cahall, stepchildren Nicole and Jason Miller, Kerri and David Quinn, and Harry Wells, grandchildren Madison, Aiden, Amelia, Drew Miller, and Molly and Adam Quinn, his brothers David and Bruce Cahall, and sister Nancy Miller, his sisters-in-law Dottie Morley and Richard Conrad, Becky and John Corrigan, Pat and Tom Morley, Cindy and Chuck Winchester, Karen Lutes, Sheila Moore Price, Sondra and John Thompson, brothers-n-law George Moore, Sr., Walter and Sue Moore. He will also be greatly missed by his loyal canine companions Bella and Franki and his guard cat Spooky.
